Isole Eolie - Archeologia marina
In tutti i tempi, navi di passaggio, che sorprese dalla tempesta hanno cercato di mettersi al ridosso delle Isole Eolie, sono finite contro scogli insidiosi (Filicudi, Panarea). Le ricerche degli ultimi decenni intorno ai loro relitti hanno fatto si che la sezione di archeologia marina del Museo Archeologico Regionale Eoliano "Luigi Bernabò Brea" sia una delle più importanti del Mediterraneo.
Essa conserva testimonianze, talvolta molto cospicue, di almeno una dozzina di relitti che vanno dall'antica era del bronzo (inizi II millennio a.C.) alla guerra navale franco-spagnola del 1675-76.
